A new neighborhood worth five billion will be built in Prague's Opatov district
The real estate development company Finep, in collaboration with Starochodovská, will build the Nový Opatov neighborhood in Prague’s Jižní Město district for approximately five billion crowns. Construction is expected to begin next year, with completion scheduled for 2026, Finep CEO Tomáš Pardubický announced on Thursday.
The new neighborhood near the metro station of the same name will include apartments, offices, retail space, and public areas, including a park. This is a brownfield site west of Chilská Street, created by excavated soil from the metro construction, which has been waiting to be integrated into the lives of residents for more than 30 years. “We believe we will obtain the zoning decision in the middle of this year and begin construction next year,” said Pardubický.
The new neighborhood will cover a total area of 68,000 square meters and is to be developed in three to four phases. The plan calls for 414 apartments for private and cooperative ownership, and Finep also anticipates including rental housing. The office space will have a total area of 34,900 square meters, while 8,400 square meters will be allocated for public amenities and services.
